Con: This is a Holy Day.
Amos: A day we pay tribute to those who protect us & our freedoms.
Nim: John 15:13 says it best, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
Abby & Jerry: May God bestow a special blessing upon each and every one of America's veterans.
Nim is reading Psalm 131 and trying to make sure his character is in line with God’s teaching. Have you taken the time to make sure you’re living as God wants you to?
Nim: My eyes don't look haughty, do they?
Abby: Huh?
Nim: I'm reading Psalm 131. I've made sure my hearts not proud. I don't concern myself with great matters and I've put my hope in the Lord. But I need to make sure my eyes aren't haughty.
Abby: Nope. Not haughty. They're a little bloodshot. And you've got some crust in the corners.
Nim: Hey!!!
Psalm 131 shows us that we shouldn't judge others. Judgment is to be left to God.
Abby makes the mistake of asking Nim to tell her a Bible story. Get ready for Nim’s version of The Great Commission. You can read the actual account of The Great Commission in Matthew 28:16-20.
Abby: Tell me a Bible story, Nim.
Nim: Okay. A-hem! Jesus told his Apostles to go out and disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. But Thomas raised his hand and asked, "What do we get out of this?" And Jesus said "7 percent on a sliding scale."
Abby: What the...?
Nim: And that's what's known as "The Great Commission."
Abby: It is not!
The Great Commission says that all Christians must spread God's Word throughout the world.
After reading James 1:5 in the Bible, Nim confuses wisdom of God with simply being a genius. Take this time to grab your Bible and check out what it says about wisdom.
Nim: I'm now totally brilliant!
Abby: Huh?
Nim: James 1:5 says "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God...and it will be given to him." I asked, therefore I'm now a true brainiac.
Abby: Don't you think you're being a little...
Nim: SILENCE! I FEEL A THOUGHT COMING ON!
When the Bible speaks of "Wisdom," it usually means wisdom about God and Salvation.
