Abby: An angel appeared to Joseph and told him to take Mary and Jesus and flee Bethlehem.

Abby: Joseph did as he was told and they went to Egypt. (Matthew 2:14)

Nim: Egypt?!!!

Abby: Nim looks for any opportunity to do his "Pharaoh Dance."
Nim: Dee dee dee dee dee!

The angel's warning not only saved Jesus' life, but also made sure prophecy was fulfilled.

No Room At The Inn

Nim: Why was there no room at the inn?
Con: Because everyone was in town for the census.

Nim: Why didn't Joseph call ahead?

Con: Well...because they didn't have a phone.

Nim: That's okay. Hotels take reservations over the internet, too.

Joseph and Mary had to travel to Bethlehem for the census because it was the town of his birth.

Amos: He plays a key role in the Bible.

Con: Joseph, Mary's husband? Or Joseph, as in his coat of many colors?

Amos: I didn't realize his wardrobe was important.

Both Josephs were important, but at Christmas time, it's good to learn about Mary's husband.

Nim: How could they top that first celebration? Kings knelt before Him. He was given gifts of gold. God even hung a star in the sky for Him.

Con: Jesus' birth was a miracle gift from God. His birthday parties aren't important.

Nim: I bet they had a clown.
Con: Speaking of clowns.

All through the month of December, think about the miracle of Jesus' birth.
