For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.” – 1 Corinthians 3:19

The Temple of the Holy Spirit – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Nim explains to Abby that our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, as Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”
Nim: My eyes are the windows. My mouth is the choir. And my hands lift praise to the Lord.
Abby: That's beautiful, but why is there money in your ear?
Nim: Oh, that's the collection plate.
1 Corinthians 15:33 – Make Godly Friends
1 Corinthians 15:33 says we should choose our friends carefully: “bad company corrupts good character.” #friendship #friends #socialmedia
Abby: My youth minister says I'm very popular.
Con: It sounds like it. How did you get to know that many people?
Abby: Oh, I don't know any of them.
Abby: They're just my friends.
1Corinthians 9:24-25 – Run To Win!
Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. – 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Con: The longer we run, the harder it is.
Con: We grow tired & careless, but Jesus will help each of us win the race.
Abby: Awesome! What kind of shoes should I buy for this race?
1 Corinthians – Nim’s Math Test
Nim confuses what Paul writes in 1 Corinthians with a loophole to getting out of schoolwork.
Nim: Not well. But it's okay.
Nim: I told my teacher that Paul said God "Made foolish the wisdom of the world." So I don't need to know math.
Con: You realize that's not what that verse really means.
Nim: Tomorrow, I'm going to tell the football coach what I think of him, 'cause God "chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."
Con: Good luck with that.

On A Diet
Your body is the Temple for the Holy Spirit and represents the life God gave each of us. Don’t take such a precious gift for granted, take care of yourself.
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Abby: Maybe it's not a sin, but it shows ingratitude to God for his gift of life. Plus, our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit and should be kept as pure as possible.
Nim: Don't argue with me today, fuzzball! I may be small, but I'm hungry!
Look at what you do to excess and ask, "Is this interfering with my relationship with God?"
1 Corinthians 10:13 – Temptation
Every day, Satan tempts us with the sins of the world, making them seem irresistible. When this happens to you, pray for strength to fight his temptations.
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
1 Corinthians 10:13
Nim: How's that going?
Amos: I realized that being on a diet is a lot like our journey as Christians. Every morning, we have to wake up and make a decision to be faithful or not.
Nim: Yeah, but at least with a diet, you don't have the devil whispering in your ear to be bad.
Amos: I don't know. I've always thought the devil might come dressed as a cupcake.
Just like in dieting, we must remain resolute in our Christian walk.
